New York, NY, United States (AHN) – News Corp. launched Wednesday The Daily, iPad’s newspaper app that will bring 100 pages of news and information per day to subscribers for $39.99 a year.

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Apple executive Eddy Cue and The Daily editor Jesse Angelo led the launching at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan.

Murdoch promises exclusive contents in The Daily, which will have a website version, Thedaily.com, that is not free. The online publication will have contents that cannot be found on free news sites and no repacked materials from traditional print media. Videos will also come in high definition and photos in 360 degrees in The Daily.

Some $30 million was spent in developing The Daily and will cost Murdoch $2 million per month to produce.

The News Corp. chief said the e-newspaper will be available in the Apple tablet for a few years before going to all major tablets.
