Austin, TX, United States (CNS) – SXSW festival-goers are set for a free iPhone city guide for Austin. Lonely Planet will be releasing a brand new city guide app for iPhone users for free from March 9 to 15.

This year’s South by Southwest film, interactive and music conferences and festivals will be held from March 11 to 20. And as the years before it, the current SXSW will surely be flocked by a swarm of attendees.

That’s why Lonely Planet has decided to release a new Austin City guide for iPhone users going to SXSW.

The location aware app will let users know the best place to grab a late-night meal at the end of the night or grab the strongest cup of coffee nearby.

The free app features offline maps so users won’t be charged for data roaming, location aware and interactive maps, hundreds of recommended places and things to do, easy navigation to quickly find what users need, expert editorial content from Lonely Planet authors, rich and professional images, integrated content, maps and points of interest, and retina display-optimized for iPhone 4.

The free app is available from 9 a.m. EST on March 9th to 5 p.m. PST on March 15.
